Olive Crest goals are to serve at-risk children and families from birth to 22 by:

  • Providing safe, healing healthy homes and loving families for abused and neglected children
  • Educating youth through specialized schooling, tutoring and providing education needs
  • Healing wounds with individual, group and family counseling
  • Keeping families together through child abuse prevention and parent education
  • Encouraging well-rounded lifestyles through health, nutritional, and recreational activities
  • Description:
Olive Crest is an accredited, nationally recognized agency well known for the quality and distinctiveness of our programs and services. We provide a full continuum on services for foster children, foster families and biological families. Programs included are foster care, residential treatment centers, group homes, educational services and adoption, and family preservation. We serve boys and girls, birth to age 22, through programs that meet the needs of each child. The largest program in Seattle is the Foster Family agency that serves high-need children through clinical services and stable foster homes. We recruit; license, and train foster parents and support them with services to heal these children and families. Locally we also have a partnership with Antioch adoption agency. At the State's request, Olive Crest implemented a Family Preservation Program in January 2004 to provide family preservation services for at-risk families. We also have programs in Mental Health, Adoption, and Child Abuse Prevention.

    History:
For over 31 years, Olive Crest has been committed to healing young lives that have been traumatized by abuse, abandonment, and/or neglect. Olive Crest has provided needed shelter, loving care, and professional treatment to over 40,000 abused children since 1973, when the agency opened its first Group Home. Since then our programs have grown both structurally and geographically. Olive Crest's outreach serves California, Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest. Olive Crest expanded into Oregon State, in January 2005, with our Child Abuse Prevention Program in the metropolitan Portland area. We were licensed by the State in July, and began foster family recruiting and placements. We opened a Tacoma office this September to better serve the Pierce County/Tacoma area. Beginning in January 2006, our next expansion will be into Eastern Washington with a Spokane Office with a Child Abuse Prevention program.
