Multicultural Alumni Partnership (MAP)

The mission of the University of Washington Alumni Association (UWAA) Multicultural Alumni Partnership (MAP) is to collaborate with UWAA, UW students, faculty, staff and the community to influence and support multiculturalism in policies, practices and programs, raise scholarship funds for a multicultural group of students and build the University's relationship with alumni and communities of color.

Description:
UWAA MAP will accomplish the following objectives and activities in the 2006-2007 academic/fiscal year: promote diversity within the UW and UWAA and their activities; support the educational opportunity programs at the UW;
assist in recruiting, mentoring and supporting diverse students, faculty and staff at the UW; and
promote participation in the UWAA by multicultural alumni.

History:
UWAA MAP was formed in 1995 to unite alumni of color and other individuals who are interested in promoting diversity both on and off the University of Washington campus. UWAA MAP will accomplish its goals by creating innovative programs, strategic alliances and by sponsoring scholarship fund-raising ventures.
