Our world will be a better place when all people are treated with dignity and respect, have access to similar opportunities in life and enjoy the same rights and privileges.
TLC embraces these principles and works for their realization on a daily basis with citizens who experience developmental disabilities. We pledge our minds, our hearts, and our passion in service of these principles and the people supported by our agency.
Description:
TLC is a nonprofit organization located in South King County. We are a national leader in providing progressive services to adults with developmental disabilities. We believe that our communities are not whole without the contribution and presence of the people we serve. We support people's right to live full and vibrant lives and to make their own choices. We do this through a variety of services and partnerships as well as rely on the creative and dedicated community made up of people we support, their families and our staff.
History:
Total Living Concept (TLC) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1982 and serves the South King County community. TLC contracts with the Department of Aging and Disability Services Administration - Developmental Disabilities Division to provide residential services to approximately 30 people.
Services to people with developmental disabilities include residential services, Community Guides, and various learning opportunities through workshops and conferences. TLC initially provided services through group home living; In the early 90's we transitioned from group living to community living. We currently support people in their own homes throughout the south King County area. We focus on supporting people to live independent lives of their choosing.
