The mission of the King County Library System is to provide free, open and equal access to ideas and information to all members of the community.
Description:
The King County Library System Traveling Library Center Words on Wheels volunteers help staff to provide library services to nearly 400 homebound patrons each month. Volunteers are at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and agree to select, deliver, and return library materials to at least one patron, at least once a month, for one year. Training is provided and takes about 1-2 hours. A Washington State Patrol background check is required. The time commitment is about 2-4 hours a month. Volunteers may work from most of the library branches throughout the county.
