The purpose of Central Youth and Family Services is to guide youth in the development of skills for personal growth and success through a comprehensive, culturally sensitive program that includes community accountability, counseling, chemical dependency prevention and treatment and work with families.

Description:
Central Youth and Family Services, a community-based private non-profit corporation has been serving the Seattle community for almost thirty years. We currently provide services to a diverse population of youth and families, particularly those in the Central District and surrounding areas. CYFS's Certified Mental Health Professionals, Certified Chemical Dependency Professionals, Counselors, and Case Managers provide a wide range of services including family and individual counseling, drug treatment and prevention, anger replacement, parenting classes, housing advocacy and community outreach.

History:
Central Youth and Family Services began almost thirty years ago as the Mount Baker/Central Youth Services Bureau. In 1986, the Bureau changed its name to Central Youth and Family Services, clarified its mission, and embarked on major public relations and capital campaigns. The current facility was completed in 1993 and houses programs that serve over 2,000 youth annually.
