Description:
CHS offers three core programs. Substance Abuse for youth and adults offers Intensive Outpatient Treatment, Recovery groups, and informational classes. The Family Counseling program offers counseling for individuals and groups. The Family Support program, with three centers, offer English Second Language classes, citizenship classes, school-readiness programs, parenting classes, skill building classes, parent/child interaction groups, tutoring programs and family fun activities.
History:
Center for Human Services (CHS), a private, not for profit, multi-service agency, has been a resource for individuals, youth and families since 1970. CHS was formed in January 1982 as a result of a merger between the Creative Life Foundation and Shoreline Youth Services. The agency currently holds a permanent Washington State Charitable Organization Registration Certificate, #2564, and is a public benefit nonprofit, with IRS Section 501c(3) tax status.
