Our mission is to provide professional counseling, education and support services to children, youth and their families in our community, developing innovative programs that meet the evolving challenges of our diverse community in culturally sensitive ways.

Description:
KYFS provides individual and family counseling, outreach to at-risk youth in low income housing communities, substance abuse information, treatment and referrals, transitional housing for homeless teen moms and their children, job training for at risk youth at our espresso stand, after school and evening academic and recreational programs for youth ages 13-19 at three Kent junior high schools, kinship caregiver information, referrals and group support to grandparents (and other relatives) raising their kin's children.

History:
Kent Youth and Family Services has served the communities of South King County for nearly 34 years, having begin as a place where youth could receive substance abuse counseling and treatment. We have continually expanded our programs and client base to the point of serving more than 8000 youth each year.
