The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church. The message is based on the Bible. Its message is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description:
We provide case management services, food, clothes some emergency housing, counseling, and network community resources to all clients without discrimination. We have Dress A Child program, school supplies to the most needy, holiday food and winter clothing. We also provide crisis counseling and help people with grief issues related to accidents and terminal illness.

We are a Thrift store that accepts a variety of donations and that is always in desperate need of volunteers in the store to sort, clean, hang clothing, price items and keep furniture and electrical appliances in a presentable matter. Hours to volunteer are Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

History:
The Salvation Army was founded in 1868 by William Booth, a Methodist minister to meet the immediate needs of poverty stricken people in London. The movement has spread worldwide and continues to meet the needs of the most poverty stricken populations in the communities that they serve. There is never a charge for the services and is based on the biblical premise of "if you do it for the least of these my brethren, ye do it for me".
