The Learn-n-serve Environmental Anthropology Field (LEAF) School provides service-learning opportunities to students and community members interested in learning more about human interactions with the environment of Western Washington.

Description:
The LEAF School at Edmonds Community College sponsors service-learning opportunities for students and community members in partnership with local government and non-profit organizations. Eligible students may qualify for an AmeriCorps scholarship of $1,000 - 2,362 in return for their service. The LEAF School offers courses in Human Ecology for college credit. During spring and fall quarters a 5 credit option is available. During summer quarter students enroll full-time in a 15 credit summer field school. Scholarship applications for the summer program are available from February to June at our website.

History:
The LEAF School began offering environmentally related service-learning opportunities in 2004 and for credit courses in 2006. Our first full-time summer LEAF School was Summer Quarter 2006. Edmonds Community College began offering courses in 1967.
