United Way of King County's Volunteer Reader Program mobilizes volunteers to read one-on-one with children and develop nurturing relationships with children in preschools and child care centers throughout King County.

History:
United Way has made early learning a top priority. We’re aligning resources and strategies to promote public awareness and education, collaboration among community partners, and public policy and advocacy that benefit our community’s youngest citizens. We’re also recruiting volunteers to read to kids to help them succeed in school.
