The vision for WSU (Washington State University) King County Extension is a healthy, vibrant local agricultural and natural resource system supported by local communities; Youth and adults involved in learning gardening, landscaping, farming, resource management techniques, and a stewardship ethic to protect and enhance local environments.

Washington State University Extension is the front door to the University. It extends non-credit education and degree opportunities to people and communities throughout the state. Extension builds the capacity of individuals, organizations, businesses and communities, empowering them to find solutions for local issues and to improve their quality of life. Extension is recognized for its accessible, learner-centered, relevant, high quality, unbiased educational programs. Extension collaborates with communities to create a culture of life-long learning.
History:
Extension offices all over the United States educate the general public using information generated by land grant colleges. In Washington, the land grant college is Washington State University, which supports Extension's presence in all 39 counties.
