Mt. Baker Housing Association
Last updated on September 14, 2007

Mt. Baker provides affordable housing and services to low income persons while supporting the development of community in southeast Seattle.

Description:
We own and operate several apartment complexes which we have rehabilitated and which provide affordable housing. We are actively searching for opportunities to develop newly-constructed affordable housing. Our focus is on family housing including larger immigrant families and households. Other key words: social partnerships, permanent housing, mixed income, mixed use.

History:
MBHA started in 1988 with one major project, rehabilitation of the Mt. Baker Village Apartments. We have since purchased an additional building, the Starliter, located in Rainier Beach. We have kept our staff small in order to maximize capital that can be reinvested in the community. We currently have one full time executive director and one part time office administrator. In addition to housing projects, we offer social services at our buildings. In 2000/2001 we engaged with a large number of volunteers to develop a community P-patch at the Mt. Baker Village apartments.
