"The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. It's message is based on the Bible. It's ministry is motivated by the love of God. It's mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination".
Description:
In 1865, a Methodist minister known as William Booth founded The Salvation Army, an army of volunteer soldiers who fought for the poor, hungry and forgotten souls in the streets of London, England. The movement spread rapidly and now serves all around the world. Your local Salvation Army came to Orange County in 1920 and for over eighty years repaired broken lives, restored lost faith and rebuilt confidence in a growing community. We have two senior citizen high-rises for low income elderly, a homeless shelter for women and children, and a men's transitional living center. We have a soup kitchen that feeds the hungry Monday through Friday.
