Samaritan Center of Puget Sound offers high quality, affordable counseling for individuals and families, as well as mediation, consulting and educational services for churches, organizations and businesses throughout the greater Seattle area.
Description:
In 2006-07, the 31 masters- and doctoral-level therapists of Samaritan Center provided more than 23,000 hours of counseling for people from all walks of life and faith backgrounds. Many of those hours were offered at reduced fees, made possible by contributions from individual donors, churches and grant resources. Samaritan Center is accredited by the Samaritan Institute, a network of more than 90 centers nationwide. Samaritan’s Board of Directors provides oversight of the center’s work. History:
Samaritan Center of Puget Sound (formerly Presbyterian Counseling Service) was established in 1960. It is a nonprofit, ecumenical counseling center with offices in 21 locations in the greater Seattle area. In addition to individual and family counseling, the center offers mediation, consulting and educational services.
