We are currently seeking new Board members with skills, knowledge or experience in fundraising, finance and hospitality. Previous experience serving on a non-profit Board would be a bonus, but not a requirement. We are focused on expanding the ethnic and intergenerational diversity of our Board, and are interested in both female and male candidates. |

| The process for selecting or nominating members: |

Interested candidates meet with the Executive Director and 1 or 2 members of the Board Development Committee. If both parties are interested in proceeding, the candidate is invited to attend a Board meeting, after which their candidacy is voted on by the Board. Our goal is to bring on 2 or 3 new members in 2008. |

Hedgebrook's outreach in the Seattle area and on Whidbey includes a monthly reading series and several special events. While Board members are not required to attend readings and events, their participation at several per year is encouraged. The culture is informal and fun! |
