Position title: Board member
Description: Knowledge or familiarity with the Latino LGBT community, and/or with HIV and STD prevention or care. Bilingual in Spanish is helpful. Willingness to devote 4-6 hours per month to carry out board duties, including leadership and vision to move our agency forward. Also participate in fund raising and representing our organization to the public. Candidates should have expertise in at least ONE of the areas listed below.

The process for selecting or nominating members: Candidates will be interviewed by the Executive Director and board chair, and then invited to meet the entire board, which will vote on the nomination.

Additional information about this position: We are a non-profit organization devoted to the health and well-being of the Latino Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community. Much of our work is in HIV prevention through community outreach, and informational presentations. We also have Latino LGBT youth, womens' and HIV-positive programs, aimed at providing social support in a culturally friendly environment. We also participate in Gay Pride events and work to increase acceptance of LGBT in the larger Latino community.
