Position title: Various Board Positions Available
Description: Art with Heart is currently operating with a seven-member board and would like to expand our board in 2008, to bring fresh perspectives, energy, and expertise to the leadership of the organization.

We are looking for individuals who believe in our mission and have a passionate commitment to children's well being. They also need to be strategic thinkers, have the ability to work well in groups, aren't afraid of fund-raising, and have great follow-through.

The Nominating Committee will consider all viable candidates; however, right now we are specifically looking for:

• A Chair for our Fund-raising/Sponsorship Committee
• Members with professional development skills
• Members who have a publishing/distribution background
• A Chair for our PR Committee

Previous board experience is preferred. This is a two year commitment of service.
Type of board position: Board of Directors
The process for selecting or nominating members: Candidate submits interest, resume and reasons why they feel they are a good match for Art with Heart's mission and Board. After an initial review, one person from the nominating committee will contact them via phone. If it seems to be a good match, they meet in person. After this point, they make a recommendation to the board. The candidate may be invited to meet additional board members and after discussion, the board will vote on the candidate.
The organization provides a formal orientation to new members: Yes
Additional information about this position: This is a hands-on, working board, creating change in the local community and beyond. It is an informal culture of professionals who care passionately about children and the power of art to heal.
