The Adopt-A-Park Program, established in 1995, is an easy, fun way for individuals and groups of any size, age and abilities to get outside and help maintain our parks and open spaces on a one-time or regular basis. Simply choose a park and our staff will work with you to determine the best project for you or your group. Do litter clean-up as you Walk through the park, for example, or take on a larger project, such as planting, weeding or trail-building. Youth volunteers are welcome. Volunteer with your family.
Some Adopt-a-Park projects are more rigorous and volunteers may need to be able to list 25 pounds. But we can structure activities to the individuals. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes or boots, gloves and a smile! We'll provide the rest. For planting projects, staff will instruct and guide; generally, no special training is necessary. The minimum age for this opportunity is 4 years and older.
