The Before School Enrichment Program at the Jubilee REACH Center is designed to provide early morning educational support and emotional enrichment for kids, allowing their parents to get to their jobs and sustain their families. Forty elementary school kids from Lake Hills Elementary in Bellevue participate in this free program. Many of these children come from diverse, often lower-income families. The JRC is looking for volunteers to help with this program. The JRC prefers to keep a low ratio of adult volunteers to children. This provides an environment for the children to get the attention and support they deserve while creating a special environment for the volunteers. Many develop strong connections with the children which makes for a rewarding volunteer experience. The Before School Enrichment program runs Mon to Friday from 6 am to 8am. Many volunteers who commute into Bellevue for work just come in a few hours earlier. Because traffic is lighter earlier in the morning, it reduces their commute time, allowing volunteers to instead spend this time volunteering with children. Breakfast is served. Followed by structured play time and it culminates in a group story time. The children are walked over to Lake Hills Elementary School at 8:10am - just two blocks away. Students at Lake Hills Elementary speak 42 different languages and sixty percent qualify for free and reduce lunch programs. Volunteer with your family. Court-ordered community service volunteers are accepted.
You must complete a short volunteer application. You must agree to a back ground check. Once the paperwork is in order - we welcome you to the JRC family. There are 12 other free community programs at the JRC. For more information about other opportunities at the JRC, click on the "I'm Interested" button and we will follow up with you.
