The Council for Children & Families (formerly the Washington Council for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect/WCPCAN) is seeking communications and marketing professionals interested in supporting a number of public awareness/education and product marketing efforts that benefit at-risk children & families in Washington. These include the Speak Up When You're Down post partum depression awareness campaign (www.speakup.wa.gov), Shaken Baby Prevention, Strengthening Families Washington (www.strengtheningfamilies.wa.gov), promotion of healthy parenting / Child Abuse Prevention month, and sales of the State Heirloom Birth Certificate and Keep Kids Safe special license plate. Product sales benefit the Children's Trust Fund of WA, which supports child abuse prevention programs throughout the state. The Council for Children & Families communications efforts respond to a re-branding/re-positioning process supported by an integrated communications plan which includes, in addition to a new name, a new logo, website, etc.
Volunteers are provided with an orientation but no special training is required. Volunteers should bring specific communications & marketing skills and a commitment to the Council's work on behalf of at-risk children and families. This opportunity is sponsored by: Council For Children & Famlies / Children's Trust Fund of WA
