Work might include brushing, building trail steps or other structures, cleaning drain dips, or any other number of fun (and much needed) projects. Projects are currently held in the Puget Sound Region, the North Cascades, South Cascades, and on the Olympic Peninsula. For a complete listing of these opportunities, visit our website, www.wta.org. Look under the Trail Maintenance Schedule. You can sign up for any day of the week. We also offer Volunteer Vacations. Volunteer Vacations are week-long trips that take you into Washington's backcountry. We pack in all of the food and equipment. For more info on Volunteer Vacations, see our website. Youth volunteers are welcome on day trips. We also have a series of week-long trips that are youth-only. Court-ordered community service volunteers are accepted. This is a service-learning opportunity. We'd love to see you out on the trail with us! No experience is necessary. You only need to wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt, hiking boots, lunch and water. And a willingness to have a great time! Youth under 18 years old must have a signed parental/guardian approval form. This opportunity is sponsored by: Washington Trails Association
We need volunteers who are free at these times

Overall Experience
Great way to contribute to the trails you love
 |
I have participated on several trail crews over the years and they are alwaya a rewarding experience. WTA emphasises safety as well as fun and understands everyone are volunteers. WTA in someway contributes to a majority of the trail maintenance done in our area, compensating for the underfunded state/federal agencies. WTA is a well organized and effcient organization making good use of volunteer time and donations. Come help and enjoy a rewarding day on a trail... posted by craigg on August 9, 2005 |
