People living with cancer need to talk. Somebody special needs to listen. Be somebody special. Make a difference in someone’s life: Cancer Lifeline phone volunteers provide emotional support, information and resource referrals for people living with cancer – patients, families, caregivers, friends and co-workers. Answer our 24-hour phone line from home or from our Greenlake center – day, evening and weekend shifts available. Volunteers receive extensive, professional training in active listening skills, communication, and crisis intervention. We are scheduling interviews now for our next training session.
Excellent training is provided. Participate in an educational four day, 36 hour, training focusing on developing active listening skills, and experience working with people in crisis. Being a phone line volunteer is a year long commitment, and includes monthly volunteer meetings. This opportunity is sponsored by: Cancer Lifeline
