Become a Mentor! Working as a mentor or tutor
Last updated on December 20, 2007

Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for caring adults to mentor youth throughout King County. We currently have two mentoring programs you can choose from.

The first is our Community-based Program. This is a one year program in which the Big Brother or Big Sister and the Little Brother or Little Sister usually meet 2 to 4 times a month. This program allows you and your Little to participate in a variety of activities and spend some time together.

Our other mentoring program is known as School-Based. This program takes place at the Little's school, during the academic year. Matches meet regularly once a week for an hour each time.

Big Brothers Big Sisters one-to-one mentoring concept may sound simple, but the rewards are tremendous. Youth in our programs get along better with their parents and friends, are less likely to use drugs and alcohol, and do better in school. But the youth aren't the only ones who benefit. Most Bigs start out thinking they'll give something back, yet most end up saying: 'I get so much more than I give.'
Make a difference as a mentor.

Once your application is complete and you have attended a training session, you are ready to be matched with a Little Brother or Little Sister! Background checks required.
