Make a difference in the life of a child! All it takes is one lunch hour a week! The Redmond Elementary Lunch Buddy Program is looking for caring adults mentors for students who have been identified as needing positive recognition and the benefits of individual attention. The Lunch Buddy Program gives adults a chance to make a real difference in Redmond's future by volunteering at school and getting to know the youth of our community. Lunch Buddies spend one lunch hour a week with their students, eating lunch together, talking, becoming friends and choosing an activity to do together. Some of the many choices available are: working on an art project, playing board games, reading in the library, and going to the playground. The children benefit in many ways. They develop a special healthy relationship with a caring adult friend. Many times their self-esteem grows, attendance improves, social interactions with peers and adults improve, and academic progress is enhanced. Make a difference as a mentor!
Lunch Buddy mentors will be given a training session. State patrol background check is required. The minimum age for this opportunity is 19 years and older. This opportunity is sponsored by: Redmond Elementary Lunch Buddy Program
