Make a difference in the current and future life of low income children in King County. Our advocates serve on behalf of disadvantaged children whose parents are involved in contested paternity, divorce, and third-party custody cases. These cases often involve one or more weighty allegations such as substance abuse and domestic violence. Ongoing professional support is provided. The time commitment averages 40 hours on a case, after 21 hours of training. Cases average six to nine months to close. Trainings are held three times annually in September, January and May. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old with no criminal history. There will be a thorough background check, references, and a 21 hour training in Seattle.
