Mission: To preserve and maintain our historic municipal theatre and to foster its affordable and accessible use for the benefit of everyone in our community.
Description:
The Friends of the Concord City Auditorium is non-profit all-volunteer partnership of the City of Concord, which owns and operates the theatre, and the citizens who use the theatre as presenters, producers, performers, and audience. Volunteers support every aspect of theatre operation, from backstage work to front-of-house ushering, hospitality, and promotion activities.
History:
The Friends of The Audi (familiar name) formed in 1991 to preserve the theatre. With all-volunteer support, the Friends have restored and upgraded the Audi, raising and investing over $1,000,000 in the city-owned building. The Audi now hosts over 100 public performances every season.
