Our mission is to help reduce hunger in the Greater Concord area (18 communities) through year round distribution of food for individuals and families by securing financial donations and in-kind services and by coordination, collaboration, and cooperation with other community distribution and social service agencies.
Description:
The Capital Region Food Program is comprised of two major initiatives that aid in feeding economically challenged families and individuals. Year Round Distribution Project Formalized in 1992 to provide monthly supplemental food supplies to area food pantries. The supplemental food given to the agencies is enough to provide over 5,000 meals per month to needy families. Over 30 tons of food were purchased and distributed to participating agencies in 2006. Holiday Food Basket Project Established in 1974 to provide to families in the Greater Concord Area during the holiday season. Food distributed to families and individuals is enough to sustain them for 2-3 weeks. Baskets are filled using a combination of food purchased with the financial donations received from individuals and businesses as well as through items donated from the public. Distribution takes place at the NH Armory National Guard Armory on Pembroke Road.
