We are a family, a community, with a mission... "To put Christian principals into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind & body for all."

Description:
We are a charitable, non-profit, social service agency that is devoted to serving the needs of all families and all ages in the Concord area. We are a full service YMCA that includes a main facility featuring a pool, gym, fitness, etc. as well as a separate 18,000 square foot childcare facility. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for individuals and families to strengthen their spirit, mind, and body. We hope that our concentration on our four key character traits of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility help us create a fun, friendly, and attractive environment.
Our policy is never to turn a family away for their inability to pay. Each year we raise funds to support families that need assistance in childcare, camps and other programs. Our annual Kids Campaign raised over $160,000 in 2004-2005. Thank you to all of our sponsors!

History:
The young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) was first organized by George Williams in London, England in 1844. Beginning with Bible classes and discussion groups for factory workers, it gradually added both physical equipment and personnel to meet the growing need of young men around the world who had moved to cities to find work and social interaction. The first YMCA in the United States was established in Boston in the year 1851.
The YMCA of Concord, NH was organized on October 25, 1852 in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church. A permanent organization was established on November 8, 1852. The annual membership fee was one dollar.
The Concord Family YMCA continues to evolve. Extensive renovations were undertaken in the summer of 2001 to improve the facility. Join us to see what we do next!
