UpReach is located in Goffstown NH, and is dedicated to improving the physical, emotional, and psychological development of challenged children and adults through progressive therapies centered around the horse.
Description:
During each 6 week session 120 volunteer hours are required to assist 85 riders during their session. Volunteers help clients with grooming, and tacking the horse. During the mounted portion volunteers participate as side-walkers which involves walking/jogging next to the horse. They also serve as leaders which involves leading the horse directly. Volunteers must be 14 years old, and be able to commit to at least one hour per week, and attend a volunteer training session. We are in need for volunteers 9am-7:30pm but have a special need for those that are able to come between 9am-4:30pm. Please check out our website for further information. Volunteers are rewarded with many smiles, hugs, and the knowledge that they made a difference in the life of another person.
History:
UpReach was started in 1992 by Edie Loeb Tomasko with one horse and two riders. UpReach has grown to serve75-85 clients weekly through therapeutic riding and driving lessons.
