Opportunities for the Compassionate
Last updated on May 7, 2008

Pine Tree Hospice volunteers are available to families who are experiencing end of life challenges. Volunteers provide respite, emotional support, companionship, do errands, assist with light housekeeping and meals, and help families "fill in the gaps" that exist, so that the challenges of caring for a loved one are shared and lessened.

Volunteers who are interested in providing care to families must first complete a 20 hour training course, which helps them gain an understanding of what kind of issues accompany end of life, as well as ideas on how to be fully present for families.
