Behind every good cook there are helpers ready to do whatever is asked of them. If you are you interested in helping create excellent food and assisting our skilled & fun kitchen staff, Spectrum Generations Muskie Center in Waterville is looking for you. The Muskie kitchen focuses on creating delicious and creative meals using fresh ingredients and local produce. We welcome volunteers who have food preparation experience, and those who want to learn more! Volunteer Kitchen Helpers are needed Monday through Friday 8:00am – 1:00 pm for our Meals on Wheels and Social Dining Program.

Schedules are flexible and you must be able to lift 20 lbs; should be comfortable working around food; be able to work well as a team member with other kitchen staff and volunteers and possess a kind and friendly attitude.
On the job training will be provided. You will work directly with the kitchen staff and other volunteers. All volunteers must complete the application and interview process, including a one-hour orientation session once your application has been approved.

Directions:

FROM AUGUSTA: Take Route 95 North. Take the first Waterville Exit, 127. Turn right onto Kennedy Memorial Drive. This is a 4-lane street. The road narrows into 2 lanes after a bridge. As you round the corner, you will now be on Silver Street. Continue straight. You will see a big brown church to your right. It is set off from the road. Take the second right after the church, Gold Street. (You will see a blue sign pointing right that reads “Muskie Center,” the sign is in front of Hart Tailor Shop.) You will immediately see the Muskie Center sign and building – red brick building. Go to the white entrance. If you get to the light, you have gone too far. FROM BANGOR: Take Route 95 South. Take the second Waterville Exit, 127. Turn left onto Kennedy Memorial Drive. This is a 4-lane street. The road narrows into 2 lanes after a bridge.
