Make a difference in the lives of homebound seniors in the Bingham/Solon area by delivering a hot nutritious noon-time meal to their home. If you have an hour a day, week or even a month and enjoy making people smile, this opportunity is for you. As stated by one Meals on Wheels recipient, "I don't know what I would do without my Meals on Wheels. I am 90 years old and cannot move around like I used to, especially with this walker. Thanks for the good food and the friendly volunteers that deliver it." If you like country driving and are looking for a great volunteer opportunity, please contact us. The service area covers Bingham, Solon, Pleasant Ridge and Concord Township. The meals are prepared in Bingham and ready for pick-up by 10:00am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. There are approximately 15 clients within a 30 mile radius. Mileage reimbursement @ .35 is available when requested. A clean driving record is a must. Volunteers must attend orientation and training before delivering a meal. Volunteer application and back ground check must be completed.
