Virginia Tech has announced a new initiative called VT-ENGAGE (www.engage.vt.edu) to honor the victims of April 16, 2007 and their commitment to service worldwide and reaffirm its commitment to its motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve).
You can use Volunteer Solutions to post the volunteer needs of your group or to find volunteer opportunities. If you live outside the New River Valley-Virginia Tech community, enter the zip code of the community where you live in the United States. The volunteer opportunities listed closest to where you live will be listed.
The goal for the Virginia Tech Community: sign up for and perform 300,000 hours of community service by the end of the spring semester. The goal for Virginia Tech alumni: pledge and perform 300,000 hours of community service by the end of the spring semester. Those wishing to volunteer can pledge their hours on Virginia Tech's VT Engage website, (www.engage.vt.edu).

Valley Interfaith Child Care Center (VICCC) offers education and loving care for infants and toddlers of low-income, working families. Safety, Loving and Learning are our primary objectives.

Valley Interfaith Child Care Center, Inc. (VICCC) believes a society that values its own future must care for its youngest and most vulnerable members. Because cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development begins at birth, VICCC strives to make the earliest and most formative experiences of children's lives positive and rewarding. In cooperation with governments, local social service agencies, civic groups, businesses, academia, individuals, and the special support of New River Valley faith communities, VICCC's goal is to create high-quality, affordable, educational, and nurturing care for very young children (ages 0 -4) of income-eligible working families in the New River Valley.
Two centers, one in Blacksburg and one in Christiansburg are open from 6AM-6PM.

Take 460 Business to Christiansburg High School intersection. Proceed straight ahead and take the second left onto Church Street. Tt comes very quickly. There is an electric power plant on the corner. At the top of the hill on the left is the VICCC and Head Start center. Double parking is necessary most of the time.
