VT Engage Logo

Virginia Tech created a new volunteer program called VT-ENGAGE to encourage volunteerism and enhance the relationship and partnership efforts between the university and the community.

United Way and VT-Engage are community partners in an effort to match volunteers with organizations needing volunteer help by utilizing an online system called Volunteer Solutions.  You can use Volunteer Solutions to find volunteer opportunities and/or post the volunteer needs of your group.

Volunteers: We encourage you to register and complete a volunteer profile so you can receive email alerts about opportunities you would like. Click here to register.

Non-Profits: Register your group's volunteer and donation needs so you can receive email alerts about matches to help you. Agencies and organizations, click here to register.

VT-ENGAGE reaffirms Virginia Tech's commitment to service worldwide and helps people actively live out its motto, Ut Prosim, That I May Serve – established in 1896.

If you live outside the New River Valley area, simply enter the zip code of your community in the U.S. and opportunities listed closest to you will be listed.

Our mission is to create safe, sensitive, and diverse arts-based opportunities for our community’s processing and healing. We believe that providing intentional opportunities for gathering and sharing helps us in our individual and collective journeys. Therefore, coming together to share and listen to our community stories will help build the road toward a better future, for us as individuals and as a community.

Description:
HERE is a group of citizens who found each other in their mutual desire to develop and sponsor a program of community response to April 16. We are focusing on the local, community-based response to the changes that have happened because of the shootings, and the building of a new future that reflects that change. A broad range of funding sources are supporting current HERE work: April 17 Fund at the Community Foundation of the NRV, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, and Episcopal Relief and Development, as well as individual contributions and fundraising.
