VT Engage Logo

Virginia Tech created a new volunteer program called VT-ENGAGE to encourage volunteerism and enhance the relationship and partnership efforts between the university and the community.

United Way and VT-Engage are community partners in an effort to match volunteers with organizations needing volunteer help by utilizing an online system called Volunteer Solutions.  You can use Volunteer Solutions to find volunteer opportunities and/or post the volunteer needs of your group.

Volunteers: We encourage you to register and complete a volunteer profile so you can receive email alerts about opportunities you would like. Click here to register.

Non-Profits: Register your group’s volunteer and donation needs so you can receive email alerts about matches to help you. Agencies and organizations, click here to register.

VT-ENGAGE reaffirms Virginia Tech’s commitment to service worldwide and helps people actively live out its motto, Ut Prosim, That I May Serve – established in 1896.

If you live outside the New River Valley area, simply enter the zip code of your community in the U.S. and opportunities listed closest to you will be listed.

We strive to help consumers make informed choices about end-of-life options and we provide information on how to arrange for dignified, affordable funeral services.

Description:
We are a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer organization trying to provide accurate information to consumers about the death care industry. We do this by providing printed materials, personal consultations, group presentations and price surveys. We serve the residents of the counties of Montgomery, Roanoke, Giles, Floyd, Pulaski, and the cities of Roanoke and Radford as well as individuals in southwest Virginia. We are one of more than 100 such organizations around the country that are affiliated with the national Funeral Consumers Alliance. We have no attachment to the funeral industry or any religious group. Our membership is open to all and we provide services to members and non-members alike.
