VT Engage Logo

Virginia Tech created a new volunteer program called VT-ENGAGE to encourage volunteerism and enhance the relationship and partnership efforts between the university and the community.

United Way and VT-Engage are community partners in an effort to match volunteers with organizations needing volunteer help by utilizing an online system called Volunteer Solutions.  You can use Volunteer Solutions to find volunteer opportunities and/or post the volunteer needs of your group.

Volunteers: We encourage you to register and complete a volunteer profile so you can receive email alerts about opportunities you would like. Click here to register.

Non-Profits: Register your group's volunteer and donation needs so you can receive email alerts about matches to help you. Agencies and organizations, click here to register.

VT-ENGAGE reaffirms Virginia Tech's commitment to service worldwide and helps people actively live out its motto, Ut Prosim, That I May Serve – established in 1896.

If you live outside the New River Valley area, simply enter the zip code of your community in the U.S. and opportunities listed closest to you will be listed.

Vote About America is a non-partisan initiative to increase involvement and awareness of local, state, and federal elections among college students and their communities across America.

Description:
Our goals at Vote About America are to organize a non-partisan campaign to increase involvement and awareness, both locally and online, of the 2008 government elections in the U.S. among college students and their communities across America. More specifically, we will provide voting registration materials, election-related event listings, and other resources, including information on how to get more involved with the democratic process. These resources will be available online at www.voteaboutamerica.org. It is our goal to build a system of contacts in affiliation with institutions of higher education across America, including (but not limited to) university public relations departments, student affairs departments, student government, other student organizations, and local community organizations. It is also our goal to help organize at least one variable event on at least one campus in every state across America.
