Virginia Tech created a new volunteer program called VT-ENGAGE to encourage volunteerism and enhance the relationship and partnership efforts between the university and the community.

United Way and VT-Engage are community partners in an effort to match volunteers with organizations needing volunteer help by utilizing an online system called Volunteer Solutions.  You can use Volunteer Solutions to find volunteer opportunities and/or post the volunteer needs of your group.

Volunteers: We encourage you to register and complete a volunteer profile so you can receive email alerts about opportunities you would like. Click here to register.

Non-Profits: Register your group's volunteer and donation needs so you can receive email alerts about matches to help you. Agencies and organizations, click here to register.

VT-ENGAGE reaffirms Virginia Tech's commitment to service worldwide and helps people actively live out its motto, Ut Prosim, That I May Serve – established in 1896.

The YMCA at VT operates programs that bring together diverse groups throughout the New River Valley. From free tutoring to ESL Classes; from the Y Open University to Project Home Repair; from the Y Thrift Shops to summer children's programs, the YMCA identifies needs in the community and develops programs that fit those needs. We reach over 20,000 community members each year from all socio-economic levels. Our programs are designed to address all aspects of the community.
