The mission of the Nurturing Families Network is to work in partnership with first-time parents facing the challenges of parenthood by enhancing their strengths, providing education and creating community connections. The vision of the Nurturing Families Network is that every child will be raised within a nurturing environment.
Description:
Nurturing Connections is a mentoring program that provides support to first time families in Meriden, Wallingford and Cheshire. Trained volunteers are linked to a first time parent to provide support. Nurturing Connections is looking for someone who can volunteer for at least 6 months to one year and is over the age of 18. We will provide training and ongoing supervision on a monthly basis.
History:
Nurturing Connections; formerly known as "First Steps" has been providing services for over three years. It is a statewide program offered throughout the state of Connecticut.
