Volunteer drivers needed in Southington
| Last updated on July 20, 2007 |
Volunteers are needed to drive Southington residents to and from medical appointments in town or to surrounding areas. This service is designed to help the town's elderly residents who cannot drive and have no other way of getting to important doctor's appointments. We ask the volunteer to use their own car. RSVP does provide mileage reimbursement and supplemental automobile insurance. RSVP began this program in September 2005 and we have already helped over 50 elderly residents in town. Our drivers have taken people to cancer treatments, blood tests, out-patient surgery and every day check-ups. We can help even more with your help. It takes just a couple hours of your time. Drivers are needed weekdays during business hours. Scheduling is flexible.
RSVP recruits people ages 55 years and older. A driver must have his or her own car and meet the State of Connecticut's requirements for automobile insurance. This opportunity is sponsored by: RSVP Of Central CT
