Our mission is to enhance the local economy by promoting the long-term development of the Dalton Area as a hub for tourism, meetings, conventions, & sports events.

Description:
The Dalton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is the destination marketing arm of the Dalton and Whitfield County Area. We bring in organized travel tour groups, meetings, major conventions, and large sporting events throughout the year. Some examples of the events we have brought in during 2007 include the Tour of Georgia, major softball tournaments, and a Housing Development Conference sponsored by the University of Georgia and the state Department of Community Affairs. These types of events will impact our local economy by over $2 million dollars this year. All the large groups we bring in require community volunteers to help us provide the level of service and hospitality that will leave a positive impression of our community.

History:
The Dalton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has been serving the local community for more than 15 years.
