Carter Hope Center is a Recovery residence for individuals suffering from the disease of addiction. We support our clients in their recovery journey by offering educational opportunities, counseling and twelve step meetings in a safe and supportive living environment. We strive to help our clients become productive, alcohol and drug free members of our community.
Description:
The Carter Hope Center was opened on February 23, 1998. Concerned members of the Recovery community in Dalton, Ga. felt that there was a need to have a meeting facility where Twelve step groups could meet. We wanted a place where we could fellowship, hold meetings, have dances and various other activities. It had been a dream for some time and we were forced into action when the 409 Group of NA abruptly found themselves without a meeting place.
History:
The Carter Hope Center was named in honor of Carter Cabnet a certified addiction counselor for The Georgia Highlands Center. In her many years as a counselor at the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center, Carter gave hope to thousands of addicts. She also hired, trained, mentored, and nurtured several of the finest addiction counselors in the business. The recovering community and their families of N. W. Georgia owe Carter a debt of gratitude for her caring and dedicated service. Carter will always be remembered by all of the people whose lives she touched and made better.
