Cross Plains mission is to support a community where all people have the opportunity of choice, leadership and employment.Cross plains believes that individuals are the community and have the choice to take part in their community.
Description:
Cross Plains provides services and supports to adults with Developmental Disabilities. Those supports include assistance too find and maintain a job, community integration and participation, job training, and life skills. Cross Plains also provides facility based services where people are given the opportunity to work on contract work that we obtain from local businesses, participate in music and computer skills, and learn life skills in the areas of health, safety, and wellness.
History:
Cross Plains was established in 1957 by a group of concerned parents and citizens of Whitfield County. Know then as Cheerhaven the program was developed for children with developmental delays and was later expanded to serve adults. Because all efforts and success relied on partnering with businesses and the general community,Cheerhaven became Cross Plains Community Partner. Currently Cross Plains serves adults with Developmental Disabilities.
