The Bay County Council on Aging provides services for the elderly, disable & disadvantaged of Bay County to assist them to remain healthy, active and independent. Our vision is to assist all seniors in our service to experience a quality of life for their golden years.
Description:
Services are provided through eight Activity Centers that include recreation, crafts, meals and socialization. Services are provided in the homes of frail, elderly persons to assist them in remaining in their own homes, preventing institutionalization. Support services that include case management, energy assistance, transportation and respite care are also provided to alievate lonliness and improve their quality of life.
History:
The Bay County Council on Aging is a private, non-profit corporation. Established in 1971, it is governed by a board of directors. the agency serves more than 7,000 persons per year and has more than 300 active volunteers assisting with services for the elderly.
