Volunteer Tax Preparers
Last updated on July 14, 2008

We are in need of volunteers to become part of our working team as the United Way partners with the IRS to bring those in need free tax preparation. The IRS will be facilitating a training course, either online or in person, in tax preparation sometime during the month of November. Dates to be announced. After training and 40 hours of volunteer time served, you will be recognized as a Certified IRS Tax Preparer. We are looking for several volunteers to fill these four different positions. Each will be required to commit to at least one day per week, eight hours per day.

  1. Site Coordinator: will be in charge of sites and schedules. Also, must learn tax prep. Will receive tax certification upon completion of hours.
  2. Tax Preparer: will be preparing taxes only. Will receive tax certification upon completion of hours.
