The Frandford Mutual Aid Fire Training Association (Frandford MAFTA) provides fire training services for the western Maine mountain region. Our goal is to provide for professional fire training based on an entreched philosophy of safety and practical skills.

Description:
Frandford MAFTA serves primarily the counties of Franklin, Androscoggin, and Oxford, though firefighters from all areas are always welcome to attend our trainings. Our instructors are certified by the State and Maine and most are instructors for Maine Fire Training & Education as well. We train to NFPA standards and focus on FFI and FFII programs. We also have instructors who write custom curriculum and have sponsored advanced courses for Residential RIT, Positive Pressure Attack, Large Animal Emergency Rescue, and fire related geographical information services.
Frandford meets monthy and our minutes, training schedule and other projects are posted on our webpage.

History:
Frandford began as a group of firefighters and instructors from the region who met to discuss and find ways to sponsor quality fire training. We have evolved into one of Maine's most active fire training organizations. We host the Explorers Post 2006, which serves as the regions Jr Firefighter training program.
