Our Mission is: To create and sustain a state-of-the-art youth meetinghouse and skatepark which provides hands on self-expression in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.

Description:
We are a teen center and Skatepark with a diverse array of programming and services. We offer daily after school indoor skating and hangout space with games. We also have a snack bar, and free Internet cafe. We have periodic events with something going on nearly every week, such as rock concerts by youth bands, movies on our 15' by 24' screen, arts and multimedia classes, and skate contests and skate demo's. We are also get involved in fundraisers, Bath's many parades, volunteerism, and more!

History:
The Bath Youth Meetinghouse and Skatepark (aka "The Park") is a relatively young organization, though our history reaches back over 10 years. In the early 90's there were tensions between youth and merchants in down town Bath. Skating was banned downtown, and youth were not welcome. Not to be brushed aside, youth organized and protested the lack of opportunities for them in our community. Concerned adults, city government, law enforcement, parents, and many others responded to youth's concerns, and over the course of several years developed a plan to address them. Youth and adults cooperated and eventually lined up and raised the funding required to open "The Park" in a former YMCA facility. Since opening in early 2003 The Park has developed rapidly. We are Maine's largest indoor skatepark, and premier youth rock music venue. We are adding programming all the time, and The Park is growing by leaps and bounds to this day!
