Backpack Buddies is a program of the Food Bank of Iowa that provides a sack of child-friendly food to low-income kids on weekends, when they do not have access to the federal free and reduced-price meal program. Volunteers are needed to prepare and assemble the sacks of food at the Food Bank of Iowa's warehouse facility. This opportunity is perfect for:
- Small groups (no larger than 8 or 9)
- Individuals
- Anyone over the age of 16 with the ability to lift up to 25 pounds
This opportunity occurs one Wednesday or Thursday afternoon per month. Please call Kelly Davydov at the Food Bank of Iowa to check date/time availability. We are currently seeking volunteers for dates in July - December.
Must be 16 years of age or older and able to lift up to 25 pounds. Closed-toe shoes and clothing appropriate for a warehouse environment are required. This opportunity is sponsored by: Food Bank Of Iowa
