The Family Resource Center's mission is to strengthen and support families across the lifespan. This is done through family life education classes, information & referral, child car seat safety presentations, and family fun events.
Description:
The Family Resource Center of North Texas serves families from all over the North Texas area. We served 1,436 persons last year alone and continue to grow every year. FRC has a very small staff and therefore relies on volunteers for a variety of tasks including:assisting facilitators in programs such as prenatal, parenting skills, Teddy Bear Cottage incentive program, and For Kids' Sake.
History:
The Family Resource Center of North Texas opened its doors in the current location in 1999. An outcome of the Vision Denton Project, FRC began with a very small staff, little supplies, and only a few programs. Today, FRC provides support for families through programs, information & referral, community outreach, presentations at schools and universities, and health fairs.

From northbound I-35E: Exit Loop 288 near Denton Regional Medical Center. Follow the service road to loop 288 and turn right. Travel several blocks to Colorado Blvd. and turn left. Colorado Blvd. turns into Woodrow Lane. Remain on Woodrow Lane for several miles to McKinney St. Turn left onto McKinney and DFRC will be on the left side of the street just past the main entrance to the Denton County Courthouse.
From the University of North Texas: go east on Eagle Drive to Bell Ave. Turn left onto Bell Ave. and remain on it until you reach McKinney St. Turn right onto McKinney and travel about 6 blocks. DFRC will be on the right side.
