Faith in Action of Marathon County, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides services, free of charge, to older adults and disabled people in Marathon County, regardless of income, religious belief, or ethnic background.

Description:
We connect people in need with people who care!

Services are provided by trained volunteers, of all ages, from area congregations, clubs and organizations and the community in general to help people improve their quality of life and remain independent as long as possible.

Volunteers provide the following services:

• Friendly visiting & companionship
• Telephone reassurance
• Transportation to medical Appointments
• Transportation
• Seasonal yard work
• Minor home repairs
• Light housekeeping
• Occasional meal preparation
• Short term respite care
• Shopping and errands
• Assistance with paperwork
• Construction of Wheelchair ramps
  
  

Who Calls to Request Services?

• Elderly and disabled adults in need of services living in Marathon County
• Families, friends and neighbors of those in need
• Congregations, community groups and organizations
• Social services, senior centers and healthcare agencies
  
  

Who Are The Volunteers?

• Generous, caring people who want to assist others so that they may continue to live independently and with dignity
• People with a genuine concern for older adults and disabled people of all ages
• Men, women and young adults who want to share their time and talents to make life better for people needing some assistance
• Neighbors who help neighbors through their congregations and neighborhoods
• Both retired individuals and people who are working and have a little time to give
  
  

Program staff determines which needs might be met by volunteer services and attempts to match care receivers with a Faith In Action volunteer in their community.
