History:
The Salvation Army, founded by William Booth. While woman weep, as they do now, I'll fight; While children go hungry, I'll fight; While men go to prison, in and out, in and out, I'll fight; While there is a drunkard left, while there is a poor lost girl on the streets, where there remains one dark soul without the light of God - I'll fight! The Mower County Salvation Army was founded in 1896 is serving all of Mower County. Our organization has always identified itself throughout the years with the poor and destitute, and that it is always prepared to be firmly on the side of justice and fair play preaching a round-sided message of "Soup", "Soap", and "Salvation". The Salvation Army not only helps people with physical needs but those with spiritual needs as well. The Salvation Army has been helping people for many years and has grown world wide with it's efforts. One of our major funding campaigns is of course bell ringing.
